I know you totally love your dog, right? I have found a fun way for you to let everyone know all about how great he/she is. Make an internet tribute to your favorite pet on Squidoo. It is FREE and very easy to use.

If you want to see a few “dog tribute” examples, check these out:

Chevy, the Best Friend on Earth

Jake the (Retired) Search and Rescue Dog

Little Riki, a Crazy Story.

You may notice that those stories also include links to buy dog related items. Making money is optional on Squidoo and there are also many tribute pages that are just for fun (and not money). You can just make a fun page all about your dog for pure enjoyment and showing off your awesome dog. It is your choice.

Squidoo is set up so you can write about or show pictures and videos of almost anything. You also can read about most anything too. If you want to check out a bunch of other pet information lenses, see Squidoo Pets and Animals . Beware….it can be addicting!

If you want some more information on what Squidoo is all about, check out Getting Started with Squidoo or go straight into Building Your Own Lense (Squidoo calls their web pages lenses).

Squidoo does have several options to help you earn some money. If you are interested in that part of it, then I would suggest the purchase of this Squidoo Shortcut to Money eBook to learn the best ways to make sales with your Squidoo Lenses (affiliate link). I have noticed there are folks that make all kinds of dog related Squidoo pages and earn money there. It never hurts to try!

Today I want to give a shout out to all the Search and Rescue Dogs (and their Handlers). It takes a LOT of time and solid training to have a great Search and Rescue Dog. Most SAR Teams are volunteers but the work is taken very seriously.

The picture shown here is Boogie. She is a Search and Rescue Dog in western North Carolina. I “hide” out in the woods for her for some of the training sessions. I took this picture of her right when she “found” me in the middle of the Pisgah National Forest. It is obvious by her joyous face that she loves her work !

Even though the dogs are doing serious (and life saving) work, the Handlers I work with make the dog feel like they are playing a game of “hide and seek”. They also get their favorite reward after they find the victim. The dogs really have a great time when they are trained in this way.

Boogie is a wilderness SAR Dog, which means she mainly works out in the woods looking for lost people. Day or night. Sunny or raining (or snow). Hot or cold. These dogs and their handlers are out there helping out. There are several different types of jobs that can be done with specialized SAR Dogs. To learn more on that you can check out some more info by clicking here: Search and Rescue Dogs

Easter is coming up pretty soon (this year it falls on April 8th). I love to include the dogs in Easter fun and get them their own Dog Easter Baskets.

My favorite event for them is the Easter Cookie Hunt. Just break up a bunch of dog cookies into smaller pieces and let the dogs watch you “hiding cookies” in the yard. Cut them loose and you will have some fun entertainment. Great time to break out the video camera! They will search and search to find every last piece of cookie. I just use regular milkbone type cookies to make it easy.

Speaking of cookies, if you are a good cook, you might be interested in this video. It is a lady making homemade Easter Dog Cookies. They look very delicious when she is done with them. Her dog sure seems to approve…

It is also fun to make your dog their own Dog Easter Basket. They act just like kids once they know it is their basket. They figure it out pretty quickly when you put some of their favorite treats in there ! Stuffed dog toys and Kongs work great too. When I put together the Easter Basket, I do NOT use the plastic grass. I am afraid my dog might choke on the plastic while searching through the basket. I just try to keep it safe and fun.

You know what else might be fun? Make a surprise Easter Basket for a friend (or for their dogs) and leave it on their front doorstep. Even better, make one up for somebody that is having a rough time or is lonely. Surprise them and make them happy. Bet it will make you happy too!

Why do little critters want to ride around on our dogs? Not only do they want to ride, they want to bite ! What kind of thanks is that? Talking about those nasty fleas and ticks. No free rides around here!

Those blasted fleas and ticks can not only be a pain, they can cause health issues for your dog. Just want to remind everyone to take precautions when it comes to your pets. There are several options for fighting fleas and ticks. I use Frontline Plus on my dogs and it has always worked well for me. I guess I started with Frontline because that is what my veterinarian recommended to me several years ago.

I take my dogs out hiking in the woods all the time. Always have, and hope I always will. For me, there is nothing like being in nature with some happy dogs. It is one of my all time favorite things to do.

I try to make sure that my dogs are protected from ticks when we hike. Now keeping those buggers off me is another story ! I always do a “tick check” on myself when I have been in the woods…hope you do the same. I have heard about both dogs and people getting Lyme disease from ticks. It is no joke these days! Those darn deer ticks are little, but they sure do pack a punch!

I am not going to let the little buggers scare me or my dogs. They are protected, so we can focus on FUN.

Let’s Hike !

Hey Everyone

Have you ever wondered if family pets are affected when our troops are deployed and away from home ? Well, wonder no more. Here is an awesome YouTube video about a soldier’s reunion with his dog. This dog has MISSED her “daddy”. As we know, loved ones do not always come in human form. Since I was a kid, I have loved all my pets like crazy. That’s why reunions like this really make me smile.

Reunions are great when it is with someone you love (or at least like a lot). Your FUN (human) reunion today is only a phone call away. Surprise someone you haven’t seen in ages with a phone call and laugh about the good ol’ times together. You know what I mean, the stories and memories that still make you crack up laughing years later. Who was with you during that time? Are they still around? Give them a call and “get your laugh on”.

Then hang out with your dog (or maybe even a shelter dog that needs a friend for the day) and enjoy your time together. Maybe give your dog some time to hang out with one or two of their dog buddies. I know the dogs will enjoy it!

Bet you will enjoy it too…

It is awesome when you can find a way to combine something you love ( like DOGS, for instance!) with making money. Some people do this from the start of their careers (those lucky dogs…), while others struggle to find that great combination. I like to show good examples of FUN and unique ways to make money when I find them. It inspires me, and I hope it inspires you too.

Here is an example of someone who obviously likes dogs and is entertaining tons of people (over 93 million views at the time of this post) while making money from YouTube.

This video cracks me up every time I watch it. When a video is getting over 93 million views on You Tube, you are making some cash.

The great thing about the internet is it provides so many opportunities to combine things you like and making money. It may take some imagination and research, but the opportunities are there. It might be writing eBooks about dogs, making You Tube videos, having a dog themed membership site, etc. etc.

It is so easy to get bogged down in the stress of every day life. Today I want to encourage you to take some time to think “out-of-the-box” and see what ideas you can come up with. Maybe such crazy ideas as making money with a “talking dog video”. One great idea can change your life. It can and does happen most every day.

Never Give Up Dreaming. Always love your Dog !
